Note from Inventor
I developed the Foldlite product line out of a very personal need. I’ve been an avid hiker, backpacker, and boater for many years. During this time, I felt constantly disappointed with the products available for recreational paddlers who want a portable, lightweight, easy-to-assemble, and performance craft for fishing, exploring those hard-to-access waterways, or just good old-fashioned family fun. All of the folding watercraft on the market were either too heavy and bulky for the average person to pack-in with camping gear, or hike-in to those favorite lakes and streams for an extended adventure, or too expensive for the recreational user.
So I decided to fix the problem.
I knew I wanted a super lightweight watercraft that would be stable, maneuverable, yet lightweight enough to carry in with my gear; a craft that would keep me dry, and that would be easy to assemble and disassemble, while remaining affordable and attractive. This was a tall order and it has taken me more than five years to dream up, design, develop and test the products, but I’ve successfully met the challenge.
The development of the Foldlite product line has been a labor of love for me and the entire team at Foldlite. We sincerely hope you will enjoy the use of your new Foldlite Kayak or Canoe as much as we love using ours.
